starting something new can be hard....even something as trivial as a new blog.....not sure if I will make this public or just keep it as my journal for now......but I want this to serve as a record of  accomplishments with my new horse Nina.  Galatina,  her registered name,is a Lipizzan mare born may 20 2006.  Her Dam is Garcia and Sire is Favory VII Andorella.  She was born and raised at Temple Farms in Wadsworth, Il.  I was very privileged to call her mine ( and also sharing with my grandaughter  Emma) on october 29, 2012.  This if you will, is her mug shot.......

She is a perfect horse, she is very personable, well mannered, and sweet.  After arriving home she settled in very well, and seems very happy at Whistle Jacket Farm in Caledonia, WI, only a short drive from Temple Farm, although the other 3 mares in her pasture do not seem to want to hang out with her, but hoping time will help bond them together. The only set back was after a week here she developed thrush and I spent the next month actively treated that. and as of mid december she appears very healthy and fit.  I feel bad that as a professional photographer I  have not had the time to photograph nina in the way she deserves, but hopefully my schedule will get better and open the way for many photos and paintings.......
